Pancake Breakfast Held In Aiken In Honor Of Fallen Officer Rogers

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Three weeks ago, Aiken Public Safety Officer Sandy Rogers was killed in the line of duty, after checking on a suspicious vehicle at Eustis Park. Saturday, people in Aiken came to honor the fallen hero. More than 200 people dined at a pancake breakfast at Fatz Cafe on Pine Log Road and donated more than $2000 to a scholarship fund set up at USC Aiken in Sandy's honor.

"There's a large number of police officers that are here. They are off duty and you may not know who they are but they are here. There are many officers working today who have stopped in supporting us, supporting the community and of course the community has come out as well." – Lt. David Turno, ADPS

"There are so many that give so much to others, and when tragedy strikes, it's important that we all band together." – Amy Taylor, manager of FATZ Café
