»  Comments | Post a Comment

This past season the baseball teams at Aquinas, Lakeside and Thomson all won 25 or more games so four doesn't sound like that much, but when those four wins will bring you a state title you can pretty much guarantee they'll be the toughest four to get.

In Class 4A Lakeside swept Wayne County 13-5 and 9-5. The Panthers will host Marist in the State Title Series on Friday and Saturday.

Both Aquinas and Thomson will need to win winner take all game 3's in order to advance. The Irish beat Walker 9-8 in game 1, but fell 9-6 in game 2. Thomson was on the road at Columbus. Bulldogs took game 1 6-2, but lost game 2 21-7.

Game 3 at Aquinas will start at 3. Thomson and Columbus will play their winner take all game 3 at 2.
