Ooltewah, TN : The Augusta State University men's golf team captured the school's first national sports championship this weekend in Tennessee. Coach Josh Gregory says, "What these boys did today was truly incredible...they knew they could win this."

ASU defeated the nation's top-ranked team, Oklahoma State, in a dramatic sudden-death playoff.

ASU is the smallest school to win the NCAA Division I championship since Wake Forest won it in 1986.

"This group of guys We just stuck together all year...we fought hard, we knew we had a chance. Being an Augusta boy, to bring a national championship there means the world. I'm so blessed," said Carter Newman.

The team was scheduled to arrive back at the ASU campus Sunday night at 8:30 PM.
